Ghanaian Community Celebrates Access to Clean Water After Years of Struggle
The Ofosu community in Ghana's Kwantaso South Municipality has long struggled with unsafe water sources. Residents relied on untreated dugouts and muddy streams, often walking over three kilometers for water, sharing it with cattle. One resident stated, "We don't want that! We need clean water!" AgroCrown West Africa Co. Ltd. stepped in, constructing a 10,000-liter mechanized borehole. Nana Kwame Afful, director of AgroCrown, said, "Water is life. Even when it rains, we still need water." This initiative not only provides clean water but also improves hygiene and reduces health risks, especially for women and children. The project is a testament to the positive impact of corporate social responsibility and the importance of access to clean water for community well-being.
