EOCO Seeks Dapaah Case Docket: OSP Confirms Collaboration
Ghana's Special Prosecutor, Kissi Agyebeng, held a press briefing today to clarify the status of the ongoing investigation into Cecilia Dapaah's case. The new leadership of the Economic and Organized Crime Office (EOCO) has requested a copy of the Office of the Special Prosecutor's (OSP) docket on the matter. Agyebeng explained that EOCO had previously returned the docket to the OSP in May 2024, citing that money laundering is not a substantive offense under Ghanaian law. However, following a communication dated May 29, 2025, the OSP provided EOCO with a duplicate docket to facilitate their own investigation. Agyebeng emphasized the OSP's commitment to collaborating fully with EOCO. "It is our considered opinion that the docket serves as a valuable background resource for EOCO to commence its own investigation," he stated. This collaborative approach underscores the commitment to a thorough and transparent investigation.
