Ghana Launches 'Tree for Life' Initiative: Minister Urges National Unity in Afforestation Efforts Cape Coast, Ghana – The Central Regional Minister, in a recent address, championed the 'Tree for Life' reforestation initiative, emphasizing the need for non-partisan participation. The event, held at the Coordinating Council in Cape Coast, saw the Forestry Commission outline ambitious plans to plant 30 million tree seedlings across Ghana. "Let us come together to grow trees, to restore our forests and water bodies," urged Emmanuel Osuunkuatabisa, the Central Regional Manager of the Forestry Commission. He highlighted the distribution of 100,000 seedlings for community planting and the establishment of 700 hectares of forest plantations using the modified taungya system. The Deputy Regional Manager, Nana Effia Brenyahodibeze, appealed for support from both Ghanaians and foreigners, emphasizing the importance of nurturing these seedlings to ensure their growth.
