Romanian Employees Face Burnout Crisis Amidst Demanding Labor Market
Bucharest, Romania – A recent report reveals a concerning trend in the Romanian labor market, with hundreds of employees grappling with severe burnout, stress, and chronic sleep deprivation. Many workers are reportedly sleeping less than four hours per night, a direct consequence of demanding work conditions. According to the findings, an alarming six out of ten Romanian employees are regularly working uncompensated overtime, exacerbating their exhaustion. The current labor market is described as challenging, characterized by a reduction in available job opportunities and a stagnation in salary offers. This combination of factors is contributing to a growing sense of dissatisfaction among the workforce. One interviewee highlighted the difficulties faced by employees, stating, "The labor market in Romania is quite difficult, and it's not necessarily from the employees' side but from the employers' side." Another expert noted that the decrease in available positions, coupled with stagnant salary offers, will inevitably lead to increased employee discontent. While employees voice concerns about excessive workloads, entrepreneurs, in turn, point to a perceived lack of productivity, a claim reported to be three times below the average.
