Orphaned Bear Cub Thrives Thanks to San Diego Humane Society
San Diego Humane Society nurses orphaned bear cub back to health A two-month-old black bear cub, found weak and alone in the Los Padres National Forest in April, is thriving thanks to the dedicated care of the San Diego Humane Society’s Project Wildlife team. Initially, wildlife biologists attempted to reunite the cub with its mother, but their efforts were unsuccessful. "After 30 days of round-the-clock care at our Ramona Wildlife Center, the cub is now playful and happy," said a spokesperson for the Humane Society. The cub, initially underweight, received specialized care, including the use of stuffed animals and even a bear suit to aid in its rehabilitation. The cub's remarkable recovery showcases the expertise and compassion of the San Diego Humane Society's wildlife rescue program. The story offers a positive message about wildlife conservation and the dedication of those who work to protect vulnerable animals.
