Woman excited to share pregnancy news—then dad reveals crushing diagnosis
Kamryn Quackenbush from Arizona told Newsweek that it was her family's worst nightmare when they heard the news.
A touching video has emerged, capturing the profound bond between a grandfather battling aggressive metastatic cancer and his newborn granddaughter. The video's creator, the grandfather's daughter, shared the emotional journey, revealing that her father's diagnosis came when she was 20 weeks pregnant. Despite the challenging prognosis, the grandfather reportedly pursued every conventional and integrative treatment available, driven by a desire to maximize his time with his daughters and be present for his first granddaughter. "My dad threw himself into every conventional & integrative/holistic treatment possible to give himself as much time as possible with his girls & his first (+) only grand daughter," the creator stated in the video. Further scans revealed the cancer continued to spread, leading to a transfer of care to MD Anderson. The family received more devastating news when the baby was six weeks old, indicating that the initial treatment was not working. Undeterred, the grandfather recently relocated to begin a new, aggressive treatment plan, despite its brutal side effects, demonstrating his unwavering commitment to his family. "We are praying for a miracle but beyond that I am so proud of my dad, so grateful to be his daughter, & to watch him be her pop pop," the creator shared, reflecting the family's hope and admiration for his resilience.
