Doda Advances in Church Divorce, Appeals to Media: 'Don't Call Him My Ex-Husband'
Warsaw, Poland – Popular Polish singer Doda, whose real name is Dorota Rabczewska, has announced a significant development in her church annulment proceedings against her former husband, Emil Stępień. In a recent video, the artist expressed her relief and satisfaction, stating that she has successfully advanced to the next stage of the complex process. She noted that the journey has been particularly challenging, partly due to the passing of the priest who officiated their marriage and was involved in the annulment case. During her address, Doda also issued a strong appeal to media outlets, urging them to cease referring to Emil Stępień as 'Doda's ex-husband' in their headlines and articles. She highlighted her frustration with what she perceives as the exploitation of her name for clickbait, particularly in light of Stępień’s ongoing legal issues, including an eight-year ban from business activities and financial improprieties. 'I don't want my name to be used for clickability by failures and parasites,' she stated, emphasizing that her identity should not serve as a 'trampoline' for others' publicity. Doda underscored her focus on her own flourishing career, mentioning upcoming performances and new contract signings, asserting her independence from past relationships.
