Bonnaroo Cancellation Sparks Outcry Over Refunds and Organizer Transparency
Bonnaroo Attendees Express Frustration Over Festival Cancellation and Refund Policy Manchester, TN – The recent cancellation of the Bonnaroo music festival has left many attendees disappointed and questioning the organizers' decisions, particularly regarding the timing of the announcement and the subsequent refund policy. The festival, which was scheduled to run from Thursday to Sunday, was officially called off on Friday, leaving many with partially enjoyed experiences and financial losses. One attendee, who wished to remain anonymous, shared their perspective in a recent online video, stating, "Thursday did not match Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, at least for me." The individual expressed belief that the organizers were aware of impending heavy rainfall days in advance. "All you have to do was look at the weather app and know that we were supposed to get rain every single day," they remarked, suggesting the cancellation could have been announced earlier to prevent attendees from traveling and setting up. The attendee further criticized the 75% refund offered, implying it was a strategic move to avoid full reimbursement. "They ended it on Friday, they told us that it was going to be canceled on Friday because they didn't want to do 100% refunds. They knew it was going to rain." They also recounted challenges faced on-site, including long walks to essential services like ice and showers, which became even more frustrating given the premature end to the event. "I only got to get a cheesesteak on the inside, I love festival vendor food," they lamented, highlighting the limited experience for those who only had a Friday pass.
