US Imposes Stricter Visa Rules on Drug Trafficking Affiliates to Combat Fentanyl Flow
Washington D.C. - The United States has unveiled a new visa restriction policy aimed at curbing the flow of deadly drugs, including fentanyl, into the country. Secretary Marco Rubio announced the measure, which targets family members and close personal and business associates of individuals sanctioned under Executive Order 14059. In a statement released today, Secretary Rubio emphasized the administration's commitment to disrupting drug trafficking networks. "We will use all necessary tools to deter and dismantle the flow of fentanyl and other deadly drugs from entering our country," Rubio stated. Executive Order 14059 previously imposed sanctions on foreign individuals involved in global drug trafficking. This new visa policy expands the scope of these efforts by directly impacting those connected to sanctioned individuals, aiming to further isolate and pressure illicit drug operations. The move underscores the U.S. government's intensified focus on combating the opioid crisis and transnational organized crime.
