Gachagua Accuses Ruto of Plot Against Mt. Kenya Leaders
Rigathi Gachagua, a prominent Kenyan politician, made explosive allegations during a church service in Kangema, Murang'a County on May 25th, 2025. He accused President William Ruto, alongside Senator Kipchumba Murkomen and Deputy Inspector General Lang'at, of orchestrating a plan to undermine and eliminate leaders from the Mt. Kenya region. Gachagua claimed, "Ruto ameamua kutumia sword ya urais kutuua na kutuhangaisha wakiwa pamoja na Murkomen na DIG Lang'at!" which translates to "Ruto has decided to use the presidential sword to kill and harass us, together with Murkomen and DIG Lang'at!" He cited instances of alleged attacks on various leaders as evidence of this conspiracy. While Gachagua's claims are serious, independent verification is needed to confirm their accuracy. The accusations have already sparked significant debate and raise concerns about political tensions in Kenya.
