'I've collected sea glass for years and use the pieces in projects like these stepping stones,' the creator explains, noting that some of her earlier creations from 2014 and 2018 are still in excellent condition. When wet, the embedded sea glass glistens, resembling scattered jewels. The DIY process involves arranging the sea glass (optionally spray-painting one side white for vibrancy) into pot saucers filled with concrete. Once the concrete is dry, the surface is cleaned and sealed with a clear varnish, ensuring longevity. For those without access to sea glass, the creator suggests using alternative materials such as aquarium glass, shells, pebbles, or broken crockery, making the project accessible to a wider audience.
