Abela Slams Nationalist Party Amidst Leadership Crisis

Malta's Prime Minister Robert Abela addressed the media outside Parliament on Tuesday evening, following the resignation of Nationalist Party leader Bernard Grech earlier that day. Abela's comments focused on the perceived internal disarray within the PN, criticizing what he described as years of 'chaos'. He stated, “Having a political party in opposition in chaos is bad, having it be in chaos for several years is bad as well.” Abela went on to question the PN's preparedness to govern, suggesting that their leadership would mirror the political instability seen before 2013. He concluded by asserting that the PN 'has not learnt its lesson yet'. The PN has yet to issue a formal response to Abela's remarks.
