Appeal Rejected: GISBH CEO and Wife Remain Imprisoned
PUTRAJAYA, MALAYSIA – May 15, 2025 – The Federal Court today dismissed an appeal by Nasiruddin Mohd Ali, CEO of Global Ikhwan Services and Business Holdings Sdn. Bhd. (GISBH), and his wife, Azura Md Yusof, to overturn a High Court decision denying their habeas corpus application. The couple remains in custody. "The court found the application lacked merit," said a spokesperson for the court. The couple was arrested on October 23, 2024, and charged with being members of a planned criminal group under Act 130V(1). The case has drawn significant public attention in Malaysia. The couple's lawyers have indicated they are considering further legal options.
