Malaysia Bids Farewell to Beloved Panda Couple Fu Wa and Feng Yi
Giant pandas Fu Wa and Feng Yi returned to China after a decade-long stay in Malaysia. The repatriation ceremony, held at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport's Animal Hotel, marked the end of a significant chapter in the conservation partnership between Malaysia and China. The event was attended by high-ranking officials, including the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Natural Resources and several other offices. Three cubs born during the pandas' stay in Malaysia had previously been returned to China. "This is a momentous occasion," said Datuk Dr. Chin Toh Kim, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Natural Resources, Environment and Climate Change. "The pandas' presence has significantly contributed to raising public awareness about conservation efforts." The event symbolizes the strong diplomatic ties between Malaysia and China, with the pandas serving as ambassadors of goodwill and cooperation.
