The incident took place on Monday morning at approximately 8:30 AM on Jalan Ayer Keroh Lama. According to Melaka Tengah District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Christopher Pattik, the victim reported the assault to authorities before the suspect was apprehended by members of the public near a restaurant in Bukit Beruang around 1 PM the following day. "The victim, understandably shaken, attempted to flee but a struggle ensued, resulting in injuries to her arm." said Assistant Commissioner Pattik. The suspect, a 31-year-old who works as a restaurant assistant, was apprehended and is currently under investigation. He has a prior record involving an immigration offense. The case is being investigated under Section 354 of the Penal Code for outraging a woman's modesty. This arrest highlights the importance of reporting such incidents and the community's role in assisting law enforcement.
