International Drug Kingpin Arrested and Deported from Malaysia

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia – In a significant joint operation between Malaysian and Indian law enforcement, Naveen Chickar, a 35-year-old Navi Mumbai resident and alleged kingpin of a transnational drug syndicate, was arrested in Kuala Lumpur on May 13th, 2025. According to Tan Sri Razaruddin Husain, the Inspector General of Police, Chickar had been on India's wanted list. "The suspect was using a tourist visa to evade capture," stated Husain. Chickar was deported on May 27th, 2025, and will face charges in Mumbai. This successful collaboration highlights the increasing international cooperation in combating transnational crime.
