
Local Gang "Geng Jack" Takedown: Five Arrested, Significant Evidence Recovered
Kuala Muda Gang Bust: Five Arrested, Stolen Goods Recovered Sungai Petani, Kedah – In a significant crackdown on crime, Malaysian police have arrested five individuals suspected of being members of the notorious "Geng Jack" gang. The arrests, which took place between May 28th and 31st, 2025, followed a three-month investigation into a series of business burglaries in Kuala Muda and the surrounding areas. "These five men, aged between 29 and 52, are believed to be responsible for numerous break-ins," stated Assistant Commissioner Hannyan Ramlan, Kuala Muda District Police Chief. "They were apprehended during Operation Pintu." The police operation resulted in the recovery of a substantial amount of stolen property, including cash, jewelry, electronics, and tools used in the burglaries. Furthermore, three of the suspects tested positive for methamphetamine. The gang leader, known only as "Jack," was recently released from prison after serving a sentence. He has 47 prior criminal convictions. The investigation is ongoing, and police are working to determine the full extent of the gang's activities. The successful apprehension of this criminal group is a significant victory for law enforcement and offers a measure of reassurance to the business community in Kuala Muda.
