
RM5.1 Million Drug-Laced Vape Bust in Malaysia: Major Crackdown on Illegal Trade
Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia – In a significant crackdown on illegal drug activity, Malaysian authorities conducted a series of raids on June 10th and 11th, uncovering a large-scale operation involving the production and distribution of vape liquids laced with illegal drugs. The operation, which involved officers from the Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department of Selangor and the Sungai Buloh IPD, resulted in the seizure of vape cartridges and liquids with an estimated street value of RM5.1 million. "This is a major blow to the illegal vape trade," stated Datuk Hussein Omar Khan, Selangor Police Chief, in a press briefing. "The scale of this operation underscores the serious threat posed by drug-laced vapes to public health." The raids led to the arrest of ten individuals, including two local men and four foreign nationals. Police also seized cash and a Mazda CX-5 vehicle, valued at RM40,000. The seized vape products contained methamphetamine and amphetamine, with a total estimated volume of 1260 milliliters and 4600 vape pods. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are pursuing leads to disrupt the wider network involved in the distribution of these dangerous products.
