Dormitory Fire at Malaysian Islamic School: All Students Safe

A fire ripped through the Asrama SMA Diniah Islamiah dormitory in Memali, Baling, Kedah, Malaysia, on June 15, 2025, at approximately 7:54 AM. The two-story building, housing 53 male students, was 90% destroyed. Zul Khairi Mat Tanjil, head of the Baling Fire and Rescue Department, stated that his team received an emergency call and responded swiftly. "The wooden structure of the upper floor caused the fire to spread rapidly," he explained. Fortunately, all students were safe in their classrooms at the time of the incident. The quick response of the firefighters prevented the fire from spreading to nearby buildings. The incident highlights the importance of fire safety measures in schools and the bravery of the first responders.
