A family of seven geese—two parents and five goslings—found themselves in a precarious situation in the middle of a busy road. A silver Peugeot 208 was approaching when a quick-thinking man, wearing a red Manchester United shirt, stepped into the road to stop the car. "I just saw them and knew I had to do something," the man, who wished to remain anonymous, told the Manchester Evening News. Two women then joined him, gently ushering the geese to safety. The entire event was captured on video by an onlooker. As the geese waddled towards the canal, onlookers broke into applause. One onlooker commented, "Get that man a beer!"
