Injured Dog Sparks Outrage Over Aeromexico's Pet Transport Practices
Aeromexico Pet Transport Under Scrutiny After Dog Suffers Injuries During Flight A recent video posted online has brought to light concerns about the treatment of animals during air travel with Aeromexico. The video, shared by a passenger named Maria Tarindes Sepulveda, depicts her Golden Retriever, Maple, arriving in Mexico City injured and distressed after a flight from Miami. Ms. Sepulveda provides veterinary records showing Maple's injuries and legal documentation supporting her claim that Aeromexico failed to provide adequate care for her pet. "Maple came out of the crate bloody, dehydrated and in shock," Ms. Sepulveda states in the video. "This is unacceptable. Airlines have a responsibility to transport animals safely." The video shows a veterinary certificate indicating Maple was in good health before the flight. Ms. Sepulveda also cites Article 50 of Mexico's Ley de Aviacion Civil, which mandates the humane transport of animals. She urges other pet owners to report similar incidents to the Agencia Federal de Aviacion Civil (AFAC). The incident has sparked a debate about airline pet transport regulations and the need for greater oversight to ensure the safety and well-being of animals during air travel. Aeromexico has yet to respond to the allegations. The AFAC is currently investigating the matter.
