Mother Throws Disabled Son to Crocodiles After Spat with Husband
In the southern Indian state of Karnataka, a tragic incident unfolded when Savitri, a 32-year-old domestic worker, threw her six-year-old disabled son into a crocodile-infested canal. The argument with her husband, Ravi Kumar, a 36-year-old construction worker, preceded the horrific act. The couple, who also have a two-year-old child, frequently argued about their disabled son, Vinod, who was born deaf and mute. "Ravi constantly taunted me, even suggesting I kill Vinod," Savitri told police. The child's mutilated body was discovered the following morning. Both parents have been arrested and charged with murder, appearing in court on May 6th and remanded into custody. This case highlights the devastating consequences of domestic disputes and the urgent need to address issues of disability and family violence.
