
Woman Recounts Traumatic Ordeal Amidst Kenya Protests: Witnessing Theft and Harassment
Nairobi, Kenya – A local woman, Mary Musyoka, shared a harrowing account of her experience during recent protests in the city, describing a six-hour ordeal where she witnessed widespread chaos, theft, and harassment. In a video uploaded on June 17, 2025, Musyoka recounted being trapped from 11 AM to 5 PM amidst what she initially believed were peaceful demonstrations. "I'm so traumatized right now," Musyoka stated, visibly distressed. "I never saw it coming. Are they really protesters?" She detailed observing individuals breaking into properties and stealing items. More disturbingly, she reported seeing women being inappropriately touched and searched, even having their clothes removed. "They were patting girls even on their breasts to check if they had anything," she claimed, adding that people were being robbed of their belongings, including the clothes they were wearing.
