Oklahoma’s New Ghost Patrol Cars Have Everyone Talking

Metro Emergency Upfitters (MEU) recently unveiled a custom-built Chevrolet Tahoe for the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, featuring advanced Federal Signal emergency lighting and subtle 'ghost graphics'. The vehicle, designed for law enforcement, showcases MEU's expertise in specialized vehicle modifications. The demonstration highlighted the Tahoe's integrated lighting system, which includes front, side, and rear flashing red and blue lights, along with a prominent roof-mounted light bar. Inside, a sophisticated control panel, labeled 'Pathfinder', manages the various light patterns and siren functions, offering officers comprehensive control. A representative from MEU stated, 'Our goal is to provide law enforcement with reliable and effective equipment that enhances their operational capabilities while maintaining a discreet appearance when not in active use. This ensures officers can respond effectively while also blending into traffic when necessary.' This customization allows the vehicle to blend into regular traffic until emergency lights are activated, providing a tactical advantage. The 'ghost graphics' on the side of the vehicle, which become visible under specific lighting conditions, further exemplify the blend of functionality and covert design. This project underscores the ongoing efforts to equip emergency services with cutting-edge technology for public safety, reflecting a commitment to both officer and public security through innovative vehicle solutions.
