MEXICO CITY – Heavy rainfall on August 12, 2025, led to significant flooding in parts of Mexico City, notably transforming the Canal de San Juan market area near Zaragoza into a challenging waterway. Residents faced unusual commutes, with one individual captured on video utilizing a red wheelbarrow as an impromptu ferry to traverse the submerged streets. The footage, shared by user Michelle Valles, shows a person pushing the wheelbarrow through deep water, offering a service for "20 pesos a ride" to navigate the inundated market.
