London, UK – British singer and songwriter Paloma Faith joined a pro-Palestine protest in London on June 21, 2025, urging the UK government and fellow artists to take stronger action regarding the crisis in Gaza. Speaking to Middle East Eye, Faith emphasized her moral responsibility as an artist with a public platform to speak out against injustice, particularly when governments are perceived to be falling short. "I'm here because I've got a heart and I've got children, and I just feel compelled to use my platform to highlight some of the things that are being ignored by our UK government," Faith stated. She highlighted the historical precedent of musicians engaging in protest movements, citing figures like Bob Dylan, Marvin Gaye, and Nina Simone. Faith expressed disappointment that many contemporary artists are reluctant to engage in activism, attributing this to fears of financial loss or public backlash. "I don't understand what world these people have been living in, but it's actually a duty of people with a voice to use their voice," she commented. Addressing the people in Palestine, Faith conveyed a message of solidarity: "That we hear you, we see you, and we're gonna say your names until we're blue in the face because you're important and each individual person exists. You're all someone's mother, someone's baby, someone's child, someone's best friend. All the children deserve to be born and I just think it's appalling that they've become numbers and they're all individuals."
