Rare Encounter: Two Young Bears Spotted Foraging in Shar Mountains

SHAR MOUNTAINS, KOSOVO AND METOHIJA – A recent video shared online captures a remarkable encounter with wildlife in the Shar Mountains. A local individual filmed two young bears foraging in a clearing, expressing profound joy at the rare sighting. The man, who was on Shar Planina (Šar Mountains), described the experience as a "gift from God" and a unique feeling compared to observing animals in a zoo. He noted that the bears appeared to be approximately two to three years old, suggesting they had recently been left by their mother to live independently. "It's one thing to go to a zoo and watch wild animals, but it's completely different when you're in their territory," the man stated in the video. He also added a cautionary note, advising against interacting with the seemingly young bears, and expressed his hope that they would thrive and live to a ripe old age in the wild.
