Tragedy Strikes: 15 UPSI Students Killed in Highway Accident

Fifteen Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI) students tragically lost their lives in a road accident on the East-West Highway near Tasik Banding in the early hours of June 9th, 2025. A rented bus carrying the students collided with a Perodua Alza. "It was a horrific scene," said a member of the Besut Community Amal Association, who helped transport the bodies to their respective hometowns. "We are all deeply saddened by this loss." The students were returning home after celebrating Aidiladha. The accident serves as a stark reminder of the importance of road safety.
