Sinkhole Swallows Car on Tanjong Katong Road, Driver Rescued by Construction Workers

SINGAPORE – A large sinkhole unexpectedly opened up on Tanjong Katong Road earlier today, at approximately 5:15 PM, trapping a vehicle. The incident prompted immediate response from nearby construction site workers. According to Goh Pei Ming, Member of Parliament for Marine Parade-Braddell Heights GRC, the female driver of the vehicle was successfully rescued with the assistance of the on-site workers. "Once it occurred, actually the female driver was, with the assistance of the workers on site, she was able to be pulled out of the sinkhole, and she was conveyed conscious to the nearby hospital," MP Goh stated during an update at the scene. The swift actions of the construction personnel ensured the driver's safety. Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the sinkhole and assessing the extent of the damage to the road.
