The cases of high school junior Marcelo, waitress Carol, and a four-year-old girl, all facing deportation, galvanized their communities. In Milford, students and teachers marched to Town Hall, protesting Marcelo’s unjust detention. In Kennet, the staff at John’s Waffle and Pancake House organized a "Carol Day" fundraiser, raising $20,000.
