North Kazakhstan Pays Respects to WWII Veteran

Petropavl, Kazakhstan – The North Kazakhstan region bid farewell to Vasily Makienko, a veteran of the Great Patriotic War, on May 19th. Makienko, who passed away on May 16th, was remembered at a ceremony attended by family, government officials, and community members. Jusip Zhumagulov, deputy akim of the region, conveyed condolences on behalf of Akim Gauyez Nurmukhambetov. Jumagulov stated, "Vasily Vasilyevich's life was a testament to courage, patriotism, and selfless service." Makienko's granddaughter, Olesya Chol, shared, "He was a wonderful man, loved by all." The event underscored the community's respect for its war veterans and their contributions.
