Juvenile Crime Down in Kazakhstan Following School Safety Initiatives
In a proactive effort to curb juvenile delinquency, police and emergency responders in Kazakhstan conducted informative sessions with students of Secondary School No. 23. The meetings, part of a broader initiative, focused on educating youth about common crimes, preventative measures, and the consequences of illegal activities. "Analysis of crimes committed by minors in the region shows a decrease," stated Sagidulla Itekbaev, Senior Inspector. The decrease is from 14 to 7 crimes, and crimes against minors dropped from 40 to 28. School officials also emphasized regular safety classes, covering topics such as fire safety and safe behavior near bodies of water. One student, Polina Sereyikina, noted that weekly class sessions reinforce these safety guidelines. These meetings, now being conducted across the region, also involve parents and teachers, demonstrating a comprehensive approach to youth safety and crime prevention.
