Record-Breaking Chess Tournament Celebrates Children's Day in Kazakhstan
In celebration of International Children's Day, the Palace of Schoolchildren hosted the "Bankers' Cup" chess tournament. This year's event saw a record-breaking 200+ participants from across the region, a significant increase from the 50 participants in 2018, according to Dias Myls, director of the National Bank's branch in the region. "Chess is more than just a game; it's a tool for developing logic, attention, and patience," he stated. One young participant enthusiastically shared, "I play chess to improve my logic and do better in school." The tournament's success underscores the enduring popularity of chess as an enriching activity for children, fostering critical thinking and character development. Winners were awarded valuable prizes and commemorative cups.
