Northern Ireland Mother Shares Emotional Twin Pregnancy Journey: From Early Prognosis to Hopeful Updates
A Northern Ireland mother, Becca, has shared an emotional update on her twin pregnancy journey, revealing that her baby girl, who was initially given a grim prognosis at 12 weeks, continues to thrive. Becca, known as 'Mummy & Wife ❤️' on social media, stated that doctors had previously indicated her daughter's heartbeat would stop. However, recent scans show both babies are stable and growing. The baby girl now weighs 3 lbs 4 oz, while her twin brother is 4 lbs 13 oz. Becca recounted a recent conversation with her doctor, who revised the likelihood of the twins needing neonatal intensive care. "I thought that I was guaranteed that both of them were going to be in the neonatal unit," Becca said. The doctor now estimates a 20-30% chance for the baby boy and a 50% chance for the baby girl. Becca expressed her relief at their continued progress, emphasizing her desire for them to remain in utero for as long as needed.
