From UK Hustle to Zimbabwean Harmony: One Family's Quest for a Better Life

A British family, led by content creator Nat, known as "naturallyfakemum," has shared their compelling reasons for moving from the United Kingdom to Zimbabwe. The family's decision, detailed in a recent video, highlights a growing trend among individuals seeking a better work-life balance and a different quality of life away from the pressures of modern Western society. Nat explained that life in the UK had become "a stressful way of life," characterized by relentless work schedules for both her and her husband. "My husband worked really long hours, I had a business called Nat's Kitchen, which was very busy," she stated. This demanding routine, coupled with rising household bills, left them with minimal time for their children and personal well-being. "When we weren't working, we were cleaning, cooking, keeping on top of household chores," she added, emphasizing the constant struggle. The turning point came when they considered moving to Zimbabwe, a country where Nat's husband had spent his childhood and still had family. He fondly recalled a "best childhood" filled with outdoor play and social interaction, a stark contrast to their UK experience. The family made the significant decision to sell their business and their home, describing the sale of their "forever home" as particularly difficult but necessary to finance the move. After approximately a year and a half in Zimbabwe, Nat reports a dramatically improved lifestyle. "The kids go to school here, we have an amazing life," she shared. The family now enjoys "a lot more free time," fresh local food, and favorable weather, allowing their children to play outdoors as they had envisioned. For Nat and her family, the relocation has proven to be "definitely the right thing" for their collective well-being and family dynamic.
