ICE Detains Four in San Jose; Bystanders React, Police Maintain Order
San Jose ICE Detains Four; Bystanders React San Jose, CA – On March 6th, 2025, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents conducted an operation in South San Jose, detaining at least four individuals. NBC Bay Area reporter Damian Trujillo, present at the scene, witnessed the detentions firsthand. The operation took place in the 300 block of Blossom Hill Road, near a strip mall. According to Trujillo, "ICE was using this as an operation center. Apparently, there is a small immigration office about a block away." ICE officials confirmed that the detentions were not random but targeted individuals with existing lawful orders for removal from the country. Trujillo noted that some bystanders heckled ICE agents, prompting San Jose police to provide crowd control. "They were being yelled at and heckled," Trujillo reported. The event highlights the ongoing debate surrounding immigration enforcement in the United States. The availability of 'Red Cards' from the Immigration Institute of the Bay Area, which provide information on individuals' rights during ICE interactions, underscores the community's efforts to ensure due process and fair treatment. The cards can be accessed via a QR code shown at the end of the video and are available in eight languages.
