Road Rage Incident Near Fort Lauderdale Airport Leads to Arrest A recent road rage incident near Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport resulted in the arrest of a man who allegedly pointed a gun at a woman and her daughter. The incident occurred on May 16, 2025, and was captured on the victim's dashcam. According to Broward Sheriff's Office (BSO) spokesperson Gerdy St. Louis, "No one expects to be driving down the roadway and have a gun pointed at them, simply because they were trying to switch lanes." The victim stated she was leaving the airport when a black Dodge Durango, driven by John Morici, aggressively prevented her from changing lanes. Morici allegedly sped up behind them and then, when they slowed down and changed lanes to get around him, he slammed on his brakes, forcing them to change lanes again. As they passed his vehicle, Morici pointed a handgun at them. When he realized he was being recorded, Morici hid the weapon and fled the scene. BSO confirmed that Morici was subsequently apprehended. The incident highlights the dangers of road rage and the importance of responsible driving. The quick thinking of the victims in recording the incident was crucial in leading to the arrest.
