Shivambu Criticizes 'Personal Project' Approach to Political Parties
Johannesburg, South Africa – Former MK Party Secretary-General, Floyd Shivambu, today delivered a pointed message regarding the operational structure and independence of political organizations. Speaking at a press briefing, Shivambu asserted that political parties must not be viewed as 'personal projects,' drawing a vivid analogy to a music band. 'I'm not starting any solo project, you must stop these things that political parties are personal projects like a music band - Brenda Fassie and the black dudes,' Shivambu stated. He elaborated, 'If Brenda Fassie is not there, the black dudes can't operate. A political party can't have that character.' Shivambu emphasized the need for political organizations to transcend individual personalities. 'They must be an organization that exists in every corner of South Africa, whether there is a Floyd or no Floyd, or whoever is there, must be the expression of the collective ideals of the political party,' he concluded, underscoring the importance of institutional strength over individual leadership.
