Wildfire Rages in Preveza, Evacuation Order Issued

PREVEZA, Greece – A large wildfire has erupted in the Preveza region, specifically in the Kastrosykia area, prompting an emergency evacuation order for residents. Authorities issued a 112 message on Sunday afternoon, urging inhabitants to move towards Reumatia as flames rapidly spread. According to ERT, a significant re-ignition occurred in Vrysoula, where a forest fire had previously threatened the village. The fire is now advancing towards Kato Reumatia. Firefighting forces are on high alert, with an aerial unit, likely a helicopter or plane, already requested to assist in combating the blaze. Residents are advised to follow official instructions and remain vigilant as efforts to contain the fire continue.
