MP Babu Owino Condemns Governor Sakaja Over Alleged Deployment of Goons Against Protesters
Nairobi, Kenya – Member of Parliament Babu Owino has issued a strong condemnation against Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja, accusing him of deploying "goons" to maim and hurt peaceful protesters in the Central Business District (CBD). In a public statement, Owino asserted that such actions do not signify strength but rather reveal weakness, fear, and a profound disrespect for the rule of law. "Your actions today do not make you strong," Owino stated, addressing Governor Sakaja directly. "Hurting others does not give you power; it reveals your weakness, it reveals your fear, it reveals your utter lack of respect for the rule of law." Owino expressed solidarity with the victims and their families, assuring them, "You are not alone. We see you, we stand with you." He pledged that they would not be bullied or silenced, and would continue to fight for justice and peace. "We will never stop fighting for a society where everyone can live without fear, regardless of their background, beliefs, and opinions," he added. The MP emphasized a commitment to upholding the rights of every individual in the county and the country.
