Colombia Investigates 10 Officials for Unauthorized Access to Colonel Dávila's File
A disciplinary investigation has been launched against ten officials from Medicina Legal in Colombia, following allegations of unauthorized access to the file of deceased Colonel Óscar Dávila. The National Judicial Disciplinary Commission initiated the investigation on May 5th, 2025, based on a report detailing irregularities in the institution's information system, CIRDEC. According to the report, more than 20 officials accessed the file, exceeding the number of authorized personnel. The commission's president, Mauricio Rodríguez, stated in a video interview, “The sectional commission not only ordered the opening of the disciplinary investigation, but also compelled copies to the National Judicial Disciplinary Commission to investigate the alleged conduct.” The investigation aims to determine if disciplinary violations occurred in relation to the unauthorized access. This case highlights concerns about data security and transparency within Colombian government agencies. The investigation is ongoing.
