TransMilenio Launches New Monthly Pass, Saving Frequent Riders 23% Bogotá, Colombia – TransMilenio, Bogotá's bus rapid transit system, has launched a new monthly pass aimed at frequent users. The TransMiPass plan offers a 23% discount compared to purchasing individual tickets, making it a cost-effective option for commuters. The initiative includes a new hybrid card for use and to avoid fraud. "This plan is designed for those who use the system four to six times a day," explained a TransMilenio spokesperson. "It not only saves money but also removes the time constraints for transfers." Ivan Ramirez, a TransMiPass user, shared his experience, stating, "With this package of 65 rides, the cost per trip is much cheaper, and I don't have to worry about time limits for transfers." Another user, Iker Smith Mateus, added, "I use TransMilenio three to four times daily, so this initiative greatly benefits me economically. I'm saving around 50,000 pesos monthly." The TransMiPass card, costing 160,000 pesos, can be purchased and managed through the MAAS app. This digital approach aims to improve efficiency and reduce wait times at ticket booths. The system also offers access to SITP and TransMiCable services. This initiative is a positive step toward modernizing public transport in Bogotá and providing better services to its citizens.
