Le mode « Mad Max » de Tesla pousse-t-il le bouchon trop loin ?

Paris, France – Tesla has rolled out an intriguing update to its Full Self-Driving (FSD) software, introducing a new "Mad Max" driving profile. This development, highlighted by tech channel Numerama, marks a shift towards a more assertive autonomous driving experience. The "Mad Max" mode, a clear nod to George Miller's post-apocalyptic film franchise, is designed to make Tesla vehicles accelerate more readily and execute lane changes with greater frequency and confidence, particularly on highways. Users who have tested this new functionality report observing speeds up to 135 km/h (84 mph) while the car is operating in this mode. "It's not about machine guns and flames, but about a more extreme and dynamic driving profile," explained the Numerama presenter, clarifying the humorous, yet potentially misleading, nomenclature. The FSD system already offers various profiles such as "Chill," "Standard," and "Hurry," each dictating a different driving temperament. The addition of "Mad Max" expands these options, catering to drivers who may prefer a more aggressive autonomous navigation. However, the video also notes that supervised autonomous driving, including this latest feature, is not yet available for Tesla models in France, with a future rollout anticipated. The presenter humorously questioned the stylistic alignment of sleek Teslas with the rugged "Mad Max" aesthetic, adding a lighthearted critique to the announcement of this technically advanced, yet playfully named, driving mode. This update underscores Tesla's continuous innovation in autonomous technology and its unique branding strategies.
