Accra Mayor Leads Decongestion Efforts in Central Business District Accra, Ghana – May 20, 2025 – Accra Mayor Michael Kpakpo Allotey led a special task force in a major decongestion operation within the city's central business district today. The operation focused on clearing obstructions from sidewalks and roadways, improving pedestrian and vehicular traffic flow. The initiative involved the removal of goods from unauthorized areas and engaging with local vendors. "We're committed to making Accra a more efficient and livable city," stated Mayor Allotey during the operation. "This decongestion exercise is a crucial step in that process.
