Chris Kirt, a 31-year-old advocate and bowel cancer survivor, has shared a raw account of the moment he realized he had cancer during a colonoscopy. In a video uploaded on July 22, 2025, Kirt described experiencing symptoms that led him to undergo the procedure. Despite being under sedation, he recounted being lucid enough to observe the medical screens. "I look at the screen and the first thing I see is this big, giant, kind of like, snotty ball on the side of my colon," Kirt stated in the video, explaining his immediate realization that "it's not right." He noted the sudden silence in the room, indicating the gravity of the discovery by the medical staff. Kirt described feeling stressed and attempting to move before receiving additional sedation. He later awoke in the recovery room, confirming his fears. Kirt's candid sharing aims to raise awareness about the importance of not ignoring health signs. He has indicated that a second part of his story will follow.
