Accra Tackles Sanitation with New 24-Hour Cleanup Model Accra, Ghana – The Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) is launching a comprehensive new initiative to improve sanitation in the city. Gilbert Nii Ankrah, Head of Public Relations at AMA, recently spoke about the plan in a live interview on UTV Ghana. The initiative, a 24-hour cleanup model, aims to address persistent sanitation challenges by providing consistent cleaning services throughout the day. "The issues of sanitation are very, very key," stated Mr. Ankrah. The model will involve cleaning operations in the morning, afternoon, and evening, ensuring that waste is collected and the city is kept clean. The AMA is addressing various aspects of sanitation, including rubbish collection and managing solid waste. Mr. Ankrah also mentioned the importance of waste separation to improve efficiency and recycling efforts. The 24-hour model is expected to significantly improve Accra's cleanliness and public health. The AMA is committed to working with the community to ensure the success of this initiative.
