Madrid, Spain – A recent online video has sparked discussion regarding alleged political bias and questionable hiring practices within Spain's public television broadcaster, TVE. The video, featuring a commentator identified as Pablo Franco Abogado, claims that certain television personalities are given platforms due to their political affiliations or personal connections rather than professional merit. Mr. Franco Abogado specifically named Gonzalo Miró and Marta Flich, asserting that their roles on TVE programs are a "scandal." He described Miró as a "know-it-all" who consistently supports the government, stating that his only known merit is being the son of Pilar Miró. Regarding Marta Flich, Mr. Franco Abogado suggested her background is "neoliberal" and that she "changed sides" to the PSOE for financial gain. He also made personal remarks about her past relationship with Jaime Martínez-Bordiú and alleged plastic surgery, as well as questioning the academic credibility of her master's degree from the University of Delaware, which he referred to as "almost a tax haven." These allegations, made in a highly critical tone, have ignited debate among viewers regarding the impartiality of public broadcasting and the criteria for selecting on-air talent. TVE has not yet issued a public statement in response to the claims.
