Minsk Nail Master Shares Tax Inspection Experience and Advice for Self-Employed

MINSK – A self-employed nail master, known online as palitra_beaty, recently shared a detailed account of an unexpected tax inspection that occurred during a regular manicure appointment. The incident, which she documented in a widely viewed video, highlights the increasing scrutiny faced by independent professionals and offers crucial insights into how such checks are conducted. According to palitra_beaty, the inspection began when a new client, who had booked through Instagram, revealed herself to be a tax inspector. "I didn't even have time to show her all the nail polish options before she presented her identification," the nail master stated. The inspector reportedly arrived with official documentation, including a protocol and a formal request for inspection, which the nail master believes originated from a competitor's complaint. Palitra_beaty explained that tax inspections typically involve two officers: one who acts as a regular client to observe the service and payment process, and another who remains discreetly nearby. She emphasized that these visits are rarely random and are usually initiated based on specific tips or complaints. During her inspection, the officer verified her registration as a self-employed individual and checked her transaction records, specifically looking at the frequency of issued receipts. The nail master noted that the inspection concluded relatively quickly and without major issues, as she was officially registered. She advised other self-employed individuals to ensure they are properly registered and to always issue receipts for services. "If you are not registered as self-employed and engage in any activity, they will come for you," she warned. She also offered a key piece of advice for those caught unprepared: "The only thing you can say to avoid a fine, which can range from 10 to 50 basic units, is that you are doing everything for free." However, she stressed that if money is observed changing hands, the situation becomes far more serious. This incident underscores the importance for self-employed professionals to adhere to tax regulations and maintain transparent business practices to avoid potential penalties.
