Budapest, Hungary – A participant in the recent Budapest Pride event, identified as Pankotai Lili, has publicly announced she has been reported to the police for her involvement. In a video statement, Ms. Lili expressed her concern about the current political climate in Hungary, stating that "hate-mongering propaganda has gone so far that a completely civilian person reported me for participating in what they considered a forbidden assembly." Ms. Lili highlighted the gravity of the situation, noting that Hungary is in a "very serious state" if citizens are reporting each other to the police. As the first individual to be reported for participating in Pride, she is actively seeking legal representation from the best lawyers in Hungary. She emphasized the importance of her case setting a legal precedent. To cover the anticipated legal expenses, Ms. Lili has launched a fundraising campaign on her personal Facebook profile, committing to donate any surplus funds to others who may face similar legal proceedings. She concluded her message with a direct address to the authorities, stating that "a strong leader builds a strong, unified nation, while a weak leader divides and turns Hungarian against Hungarian," urging everyone to decide what kind of country they wish to live in.
