In a video released on June 30, 2025, Nicolau expressed his dismay, stating, "How can you cut from children? This is cutting from the future." He emphasized his personal commitment to supporting youth, revealing he has symbolically awarded 200 Euros to students who achieved a perfect 10 average on their baccalaureate exams. Nicolau also addressed his own financial standing and potential future in politics. He asserted that he has never received any funds from the Romanian state, declaring, "Zero. I haven't taken any money from the Romanian state."
